Colin Stetson has shared a new piece of music, a preview of his upcoming soundtrack from David Blue Garcia’s update of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It’s called “Every Last One”. The rest of the score arrives February 18 via Milan Records, with the film releasing on Netflix the same day. Listen to “Every Last One” below.
Stetson talked about his work on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in an interview with Variety, saying, “I knew this would be an opportunity to go as far as I wanted in finding the musical score.” He said he used recordings of a saxophone and pig growls for the film’s iconic villain, Leatherface.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre score is the latest entry in a slew of soundtracks from Stetson, which released three in 2020: one for Color out of space (more music from the movie) which expanded on the 2019 original, another for the documentary The spectacle of warand the third for the Danish television series deliver us. From the Horror Movie Music Hereditary in 2018, Stetson also wrote music for the National Geographic series Barksthe video game Red Dead Redemption 2and an Adult Swim animated miniseries.
