Explore songs from the Will Smith-inspired series

The music for a movie or TV show can often make or break the final product because the choice of songs can add just the right feeling to each scene or a certain era.

It’s particularly poignant in Peacock’s new series, Bel-Air, which tells the story of Hollywood legend Will Smith and his move from Philadelphia to Los Angeles that became the focus of The prince of Bel-Air.

While the original Fresh Prince series was set in the 1990s, this new Bel-Air series is set in modern-day America and this is reflected in the choice of song in the series’ soundtrack.

Release date and synopsis

Bel-Air landed on Peacock in the US on Sunday February 13 with new episodes now airing every Thursday.

Starring Jabari Banks as a fictionalized version of Will Smith, the series is a modern take on the legendary sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

The series follows 16-year-old Will Smith as he is forced to leave his home in Philadelphia and live with his wealthy aunt and uncle.

A fish out of water, Will must quickly adapt if he wants to thrive in his new environment.

Bel-Air Soundtrack

Much like the original series and Will Smith’s career, Bel-Air has a close relationship with music and is therefore full of catchy tunes.

The songs featured in the Bel-Air soundtrack are:

Episode 1 | Dreams and nightmares

Episode 2 | Keep your head up

Episode 3 | Yamacraw

Episode 4 | Cloth

Episode 5 | PA to LA

More songs will be added as new episodes are released.

Bel-Air is available to stream now on Peacock after its release on February 13, 2022.
