Venom: let there be carnage-the Venom The sequel starring Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson has hit theaters, and for fans of British rap, there’s an extra treat in there. North London rapper Little Simz, who just released one of the best albums of the year in Sometimes I could be introverted, made an appearance on the soundtrack with a recast of a 2019 track, also called “Venom.”
This is not the first time that the song has been presented on an original soundtrack. The original version, which first appeared in 2019 GRAY area, was selected to appear on the soundtrack of the latest series of Top Boy. According to a Uproxx maintenance with director Andy Serkis, famous British rap fan Tom Hardy suggested the track and ultimately did it all.
Explaining how it happened, Serkis said, “She actually did a song, without her knowing it, called ‘Venom’ which was very related to the first movie. And so Tom got in touch with her and this song is sort of became the focus [of the scene]. “
Additionally, Simz herself makes an appearance in the film as well, performing on stage for a cameo appearance with the titular hero by her side.
Although the film, which Hardy and Serkis co-wrote together, has received mixed reviews so far, it had the biggest opening weekend of the pandemic era, bringing in a total of 103.9 million dollars in the world.
Either way, it’s a big look for Simz who wraps up the UK part of his album tour this year before heading to Europe and then North America in 2022. For tickets and more info , meeting on here.
