Read the script for “Encanto”

Walt Disney Animation Studios Encanto has seen great success since moving to Disney+ after a 30-day theatrical-exclusive release. The film was not only successful streaming-wise, but also musically. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s soundtrack itself breaks many records.

The film follows the Madrigals, an extraordinary family who live hidden in the Colombian mountains in an enchanted place called the Encanto. The magic of the Encanto blessed each child in the family with a unique gift, each child except Mirabel. However, she may soon be the Madrigals’ last hope when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is now in jeopardy.

The voice cast includes Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel; María Cecilia Botero as Mirabel’s grandmother, Alma aka Abuela; John Leguizamo as Uncle Bruno de Mirabel; Angie Cepeda and Wilmer Valderrama as the parents of Mirabel, Julieta and Agustín; and Diane Guererro and Jessica Darrow as Mirabel’s sisters, Isabela and Luisa. Carolina Gaitán and Mauro Castillo also lend their voices as Mirabel, Pepa and Félix’s aunt and uncle; and Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, and Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Mirabel’s cousins ​​Dolores, Camilo, and Antonio, respectively.

Disney released Encanto on Thanksgiving, making it the second major animated release to have an exclusive theatrical window in 2021. It has grossed $216.3 million at the global box office to date and has already won Best Feature host of the Golden Globes and the National Board of Review. He also has nine Annie nominations.
