The Rise Of Gru Soundtrack Will Include Diana Ross, Tame Impala, St. Vincent and More

The Illumination movie soundtrack Minions: The Rise of Gruset to arrive July 1, 2022 via Decca Records, will feature Diana Ross, Tame the impala, St. Vincent and several other acts.

The film, set in the 1970s, tells how the world’s greatest supervillain Gru (played by Steve Carell) met their iconic Minions for the first time, forged the most despicable team in cinema, and faced the most unstoppable criminal force ever assembled.

HIS, bleachers, Phoebe Bridger, Kali Uchis, thundercat, Caroline Polachek, Weyes Blood and Brockhampton are among the other artists to feature on the soundtrack.

Produced by Grammy Producer of the Year Jack Antonoffthe soundtrack features brand new versions of some of the biggest hits of the 1970s from some of the hottest talents in the music industry today.

Antonoff revealed on social media that the tracks will reflect the decade alluded to in the video. “my favorite songs from the 70s performed by my favorite artists + an original i wrote with sam dew, patrik berger and kevin parker performed by diana ross and tame impala, called ‘turn up the sunshine'”, he wrote. he shared on instagram, as well as the list of 19 songs. “The recording sessions for these were some of the most special and bizarre stories… day :)”

Antonoff concluded, “I’m very happy about this and I have to go back to work now.”

the Minions: The Rise of Gru The film’s soundtrack will be released digitally, on a 3-panel CD digipack, a standard black double LP, a yellow and blue splashed double LP, a yellow cassette and a limited edition picture disc.
