Let the carnage continue for Venom.
Tom Hardy – the star of the first two Venom payments–takes a proactive role in Venom 3 (or whatever the title) by co-writing the screenplay with Kelly Marcel (who wrote the first two films). Check out an Instagram post from Hardy that shows the cover page of the script in progress.
The search is still ongoing to find someone to sit in the director‘s chair for the trio, but Andy Serkis – who directed last year Venom: Let There Be Carnage –said he would be interested in returning for another symbiote saga.
“There’s so much potential in the Venomverse for some really interesting journeys,” Serkis said late last year. “I think Kelly and Tom have been thinking about the next step in the journey. When you go into a franchise, you have to think about the arc. You can’t think about them individually.
Carnage– directed by Serkis from a screenplay by Marcel – was a successful 2018 sequel Venom which finds Eddie Brock (Hardy) in conflict with serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) after he becomes host to another symbiote, Carnage.
The sequel – delayed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic – was a box office hit, earning over $500 million worldwide on a budget of $110 million.
